Summary of Erebos:
Every school holds its multitude of cliques, groups, and teams. But after a mysterious DVD unearths itself unto sixteen-year-old Nick Dunmore’s school, simply named Erebos, it soon seems as though everyone is pitted against each other, trying their best to keep to themselves and not reveal anything about this mysterious game that has erratically begun to spark even more curiosity. Nick gets himself a hold of the mysterious DVD and finds out just what all the hype is about. Erebos: a cryptic, yet free world unlike any other, that makes the player feel as though they are living a second life. Players must follow a strict set of rules, the most important being that no one is to know what the game is about, how one can access the game, and no one must question the Messenger, a mysterious powerful being in the game world that gives tasks to players to accomplish in the real world. It all seems like some entertaining mysterious adventure to Nick, but soon, things start to go awry. Students become on edge, not trusting even their closest friends; many lose themselves in the vast world of Erebos and let it run their lives, and the Messenger’s strange tasks are beginning to hurt others. Nick soon realizes the danger of such a game and its frightening agenda. He decides to fight the game, try to save his friends and the people affected around him, and to not let himself be manipulated by the ever-growing terror of Erebos…
